Three Loyalist Heroes @ Waterdown Legion | Hamilton | Ontario | Canada

The Flamborough Heritage Society will feature a presentation on Three Loyalist Heroes by Ruth Nicholson.

Ruth graduated from McMaster University from the Fine Arts program, and from Queen’s University as an elementary and secondary school teacher. Ruth taught with the Halton District School Board for 34 years. She is past president of the Hamilton Branch of the United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada, and is currently Dominion Chair, giving talks across the province about life in early Upper Canada.

Ruth is going to share her research on 3 Loyalists: Robert Land served the Crown and had a troubled and eventful life; Isaac Ferriss was only 17 when he took on an act of bravery for General Brock and Chief Tecumseh; John Cornwall was a learned man and developed law and order in this new land.

At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there are refreshments and conversation which play an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to see you there!

We are also going to try to have this as a hybrid meeting and a Zoom link has been set up. There are no guarantees but we will try our best to make this work! If you can’t make it in person, we hope you will try to connect with us via Zoom:

Pre-register here. The waiting room will open at 7:45PM.
