Dave MacDougall is a member of the Dundas Valley Historical Society. In 2013 he took some canoe trips along the canal, which sparked his interest in the geography and ecology of Cootes Paradise. Through his research, Dave focused on five areas of the history of the canal: building, managing, enjoying, polluting and resurrecting. He will present his research of the canal from 1819 to 2018 with us.

We will try to hold this as a hybrid meeting, Zoom link will be added closer to the event.

At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there are refreshments and conversation which play an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to see you there!
