HMCS Haida @ Online event - Zoom meeting

Please note this will be a Zoom meeting.

Andrew Laforet is the Public Outreach and Education Office for Parks Canada in Southwestern Ontario. He began at Parks Canada as a student interpreter in 2012. Since then, he has been the Project Development Officer and Interpretation Coordinator for Point Pelee National Park.

The HMCS Haida is a Tribal class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1963. She served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Cold War. She is the last surviving Tribal class destroyer in the world and now rest at Pier 9 in Hamilton and is open to the public. Andrew will tell us about the HMCS Haida’s rich history and service.

EDIT: Unfortunately Andrew will be unable to present this meeting. His colleague Gabriel Camozzi, a visitor experience team leader with Parks Canada, will present in his stead.

At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there will be an opportunity to questions and have conversation which plays an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to ‘see’ you there!

This meeting is online only via Zoom. Join the Zoom meeting through this link. No pre-registration is required.
