Nathan Tidridge teaches Canadian History, Government and Indigenous Studies at Waterdown District High School. He has written a number of books about the Royal Family and local history, including The Extraordinary History of Flamborough. He is a member of the national advisory council for the Prince’s Trust Canada, and vice-president for the Institute of the Study of the Crown in Canada. In 2018, Nathan was awarded Meritorious Service Medal for his work on educating Canadians on the role of the Crown and its relationship with indigenous communities. In 2020, he received the Governor General’s award for excellence in teaching history.

Nathan will tell us the stories from some of the survivors from the schools as well as the harsh condition in which they endured.

We will try to hold this as a hybrid meeting, Zoom link will be added closer to the event.

At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there are refreshments and conversation which play an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to see you there!
