Autumn has arrived in Flamborough, and with the changing temperatures and vibrant colourhighlighting the foliage, this fall commemorates the 100th anniversary of the completion of Waterdown’sMemorial Hall. A committee of community partners have planned for a weekend of events fromNovember 11th to the 13th for everyone to celebrate together.
Located in the centre of Waterdown, our Memorial Hall has been a part of village life for 100 years. Itsconstruction was completed in the late fall of 1922, and the hall officially opened January 24, 1923. Thiswas especially miraculous as the partly built structure was not damaged in the Great Waterdown Fire of1922. The building was an example of what a small community could achieve when united in a commongoal.
