Lori Oschefski is the president of Home Children Canada. She is the author of two books on Home Children and is working on her third. She is the recipients of the Ontario Museum Association’s Award for Excellence in Exhibition for an exhibit created in partnership with the Black Creek Pioneer Village. She is also a two-time nominee for Historical Awards for her books.
Lori will share with us how over 100,000 impoverished or orphaned children were brought over to Canada from the UK to work on Canada farms and in Canadian households. We will learn about their loves and how Home Children Canada is preserving their memories.
We will try to hold this as a hybrid meeting, Zoom link will be added closer to the event.
Doors open at 6:30pm. At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there are refreshments and conversation which play an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to see you there!
