The Flamborough Heritage Society will feature a presentation on The History of Lowville by Helen Callaway.

Helen is a member of the Kilbride Historical Society. She graduated from McMaster University with a B.A. and went on to have a varied career in industry, education, customer service and donor relations. Please join Helen for a brief history of the Village of Lowville, Nelson Township. She will take you through the decades of the 1800s and early 1900s. You will hear about some of the early settlers, highlights of their lives and the businesses they built in the village that contributed to its early prosperity. She is also hoping that you might be able to contribute to the historical research the group is doing and answer some of the now, decades old questions.

We are also going to try to have this as a hybrid meeting and a Zoom link will be set up. The last hybrid meeting seemed to work well! If you can’t make it in person, we hope you will try to connect with us via Zoom:

Join the meeting through this link. No pre-registration is required.

At each of our meetings there is a brief period allotted to the business of the Society, followed by a speaker, or presentation on some aspect of local history or heritage. Afterward there are refreshments and conversation which play an important part in keeping alive the Community spirit. We hope to see you there!
