This month, Jonathan Vance will be joining us for a reading from his latest book “Flamborough and WWI.”
Many men from Flamborough fought in the war. In 1918, the Flamborough Review would print letters from servicemen to their families on the front page of the paper. These letters helped Canadians to understand the sacrifices made by the troops. Young women also enlisted in the war as nursing sisters with the Canadian Army Medical Corps and American Red Cross to help in the war effort.
